Now you know what private label vitamins and private label supplements are thanks to our previous blog post, we'll keep this next article short but sweet. We're gonna give you 3 reasons why you should start selling vitamins and supplements.
Selling Private Label Vitamins and Private Label Supplements is a Good Business
Vitamin and supplement sales are increasing each year! Just take a look at the statistics below. The data shows the value of retail sales of vitamins and nutritional supplements in the United Stated from 2000 to 2017 (projections from 2011).

Private Label Vitamins and Private Label Supplements are More Affordable!
According to a report by SymphonyIRI Group that was published in 2011, prices for private labels like private label vitamins, private label supplements, private label cosmetics, etc. can be more affordable by 30% compared to national or global brands. This translates to higher value for retailers and consumers!
Pretty much like this one. Both contains the much needed caffeine but guess which one's more expensive :)
You don’t have to own a retail store for this type of business. Selling vitamins and supplements can be operated from home via the internet. If you can have your own website, that would be even better! Basically, you will sell your products thru your website or other websites like Amazon, etc.

Whenever people hear “private labelling”, they can think of ways on how this works. Not everyone is familiar with this term so to set the record straight, let’s put a definition to it.
This is gonna be the start of something new and exciting.
Private labelling of vitamins is when a manufacturer has a stock recipe (or you can have a customized recipe according to your liking) they sell to other sellers who put their own branding on the product, give their products their own name, logo and identity, do their own marketing campaigns, etc.

In a nutshell, vitamin manufacturers and supplement manufacturers (that’s us!) manufacture something for sellers (that’s you!) for you to gain profit.
Yay! Profit!

Have you ever heard of the “sunshine vitamin”? Yes, it’s Vitamin D! It’s called such because vitamin D is produced in the skin when exposed to sunlight or consumed in foods or supplements provided by a vitamin manufacturer or supplement manufacturer. This fat-soluble vitamin includes vitamins D1, D2 and D3. Even though it’s called a “vitamin”, Vitamin D is actually considered a pro-hormone and not really a “vitamin” because the body can produce its own vitamin D through the reaction of the skin to sunlight while vitamins are nutrients that cannot be produce or synthesized by the body and therefore must be acquired through diet and supplements.
Vitamin D is love.
Uses and Benefits of Vitamin D
Vitamin D is essential in the regulation of calcium and absorption of phosphorus, maintaining healthy teeth and bones, and helps in the over-all resistance of the body to certain types of diseases. If you don’t get enough Vitamin D, you’re at risk of developing bone diseases like osteomalacia (soft bones) or osteoporosis (brittle bones). Vitamin D has a lot of important roles in the body. Aside from the mentioned points above, Vitamin D also helps in:

·         Having a stronger immune system
·         Having a healthier brain and nervous system
·         Over-all cardiovascular health
·         Aiding diabetes management and regulates insulin levels

How Much Vitamin D Do I Need?
Over the years, it was backed-up by research that we need more vitamin D more than we once thought. Although there has been some controversy about the right amount one should get, the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) reported updated intake recommendations based on international units per day or IU.

·         Infants 0 up to 12 months: 400 IU (10mcg)
·         Children – teens: 600 IU (15mcg)
·         Adults up to age 70: 600 IU (15mcg)
·         Adults above age 70: 800 IU (20mcg)
·         Pregnant or lactating women: 600 IU (15mcg)

What are the Sources of Vitamin D?
The top foods that has vitamin D are the following:

·         Eggs, the yolk particularly
·         Fishes like salmon and sardines
·         Shrimp
·         Fortified foods like milk, cereal, yoghurt and orange juice

Can I Get Vitamin D Supplements?
Yes, yes and yes. This is where we, vitamin manufacturers and supplement manufacturers come into the picture. Aside getting your daily dose of vitamin D from sunlight and food, Vitamin D supplements are also available. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) recommends that you obtain vitamin from all three mentioned sources in order to ensure sufficient levels of vitamin D in your blood.

“Eat your orange so you won’t catch a cold.” You probably heard that from your mommy several times when you were just a kid... or until today. We all know something about Vitamin C, it’s as if our brains were programmed with some data that says Vitamin C wards off a cold. To those who still doesn’t know, I’m very sorry to burst your tangy bubble but it’s been proven a myth long ago.
A picture of the tangy bubble that's about to be burst.
How Did it Start?
The cold-busting myth originated back in the 18th century: the time when there were no mobile phones, no internet and no vitamin manufacturers yet. The time in history when sailors had poor nutrition, lack of vitamin C to be exact. Scurvy was really a scare back then. Scurvy is a disease caused by the deficiency of vitamin C in the body. It is characterized by swollen and bleeding gums, and the opening of previously healed wounds.

In addition, Linus Pauling popularized a theory back in 1970. This theory is all about using large doses of Vitamin C to prevent the common cold. He even published a book about it! He used up to 18,000 mg to himself every single day. That’s too much, considering the recommended daily allowance (RDA) is 75mg for women and 90mg for men. At that time, there were really no good studies about it so we forgive them.
Not the common cold.
So There’s No Chance of Preventing Cold with Vitamin C?
Again, sorry to disappoint you but Vitamin C has shown no effect in cold prevention in normal situations according to clinical studies but that doesn’t mean you won’t be eating any oranges or taking vitamin C supplements anymore. Researches show that getting a dose of 200mg or above may help reduce the duration of colds slightly. Some other factors should also be considered like individuality: some people get better or improve afer taking Vitamin C supplements (provided by a reliable vitamin manufacturer and supplement manufacturer, thats us!) while others don’t.
Bless you!

What is Choline?
Choline is a strongly basic compound occurring in living tissues and plays a very important  role in the synthesis and transport of lipids. Choline is a water-soluble nutrient and it is usually grouped within the B-complex vitamins (A group of water-soluble vitamins including thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, biotin, pyridoxine, folic acid, inositol, and vitamin B12 and occurring chiefly in yeast, liver, eggs, and some vegetables).
Some of the Benefits of CholineLiver: Choline is likely disease caused by exclusive feeding by vein (parenteral nutrition). Giving choline intravenously (by IV) treats liver disease in people receiving parenteral nutrition who are choline deficient.

Membrane Structure: Choline is an essential nutrient in the production of phosphatidylcholine, one of the most important structural building blocks of a living cell. Its unique soap-like structure helps to keep the membrane fluid, yet mostly impermeable.

The "May" Benefits: These are some of the health benefits of Choline that needs further studies but there are some accounts wherein they claim Choline helped. That includes the following:
  • May help memory problems associated with aging
  • Prenatal use may lead to lifelong improvement of visuospatial memory in children born of the pregnancy
  • Supplementation during infancy and childhood may lead to improved lifelong memory
  • May reduce fatigue and increase vigor during strenuous exercise
  • May help reduce levels of plasma homocysteine
